Michael Clifford, Master of Science in Oriental Medicine

Diplomat of Acupuncture (NCCAOM 2000-2008)

I recieved my Master of Science in Oriental Medicine, from Southwest Acupuncture College (Class of 2000)
I was a Licensed Acupuncturist (AZ #240) in Tucson Arizona, and my first clinic was in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
I am also a Diplomat of Acupuncture (NCCAOM)

I studied, taught and practiced Oriental Medicine for just over 10 years,
in that time, for two and a half years I taught classes and supervised the Student Clinic for the Asian Institute of Medical Studies in Tucson Arizona.

My Clinical Focus

I am no longer offering acupuncture treatments, as I live in New Mexico and do not have my Doctor of Oriental Medicine License.
Though I treated all types of disorders, ranging from chronic pain to treating the side-effects of chemotherapy, one of my clinical interests was working with Women's Health Issues. From my clincal experience, teaching and continuing education I have a new protocol for treating Endometriosis This basic protocol can be easily and effectively modified to treat a variety of women's health issues, including fibroids, ovarian cysts, painful menses, etc.
If you experience endometriosis, or other women's health issues, please take a moment to read about this protocol. I am very excited about the potential this treatment offers.

I have developed a relationship with the ENDOMETRIOSIS RESEARCH CENTER. I am their Alternative Medicine Advisor. I see this role as part of my work to educate the public about the different treatment modalities that are available and effective. Occasionally we have on-line chat sessions where I can answer questions. That is always an interesting time.

My ongoing Blog

I enjoy reflecting on and writing about my experiences treating my patients. Go to my BLOG to get a deeper view of my perspective about acupunture, life and other interesting things.
I have not written anythng for quite a while, but there are some good articles there, and I am getting motivated to return to my writing.

If you have any questions about acupuncture, or anything else for that matter:
please contact me.

Food For Thought

I really do appreciate feedback, and I will respond to any letter, a long as it is somewhat polite; even if I disagree with what you have said.

My inteniton is to create a dialogue where we can mutually explore the questions revolving around health care. It is not that I think I have the correct answers, I am not even sure I have the correct questions; but I do want to have a discussion. Will you join in?
